Russ Weiss, CFP®

Chief Planning Officer & Senior Wealth Advisor

I see our clients and their families as an extension of myself. So it’s important to me that I always do the best I can for them.”

Russ’s Role at Marshall Financial

Every advisor at the firm offers a unique perspective, but you can count on all of them to apply the same philosophy. That’s thanks to the efforts of Russ Weiss, our Chief Planning Officer. “I help guide what our approach to planning should be, so all our clients have a consistent experience,” he says. As a member of our leadership team, Russ helps set the firm’s vision and strategy and mentors younger advisors getting started in their careers.

After earning a degree in security analysis and portfolio management, Russ found his entrepreneurial spirit pulling him toward running several small businesses.

“But I found I wanted to be in more of a consultative, service-oriented role,” he says, and that led him to wealth management. He’s happiest when he’s connecting with people and having a positive impact on their lives.

Get to Know Russ

Russ finds the human element of money fascinating, having studied financial behavior and psychology, and he’s especially drawn to the challenge of solving complex problems. Clients often turn to him to tackle unique issues, like the financial implications of blended families, unmarried couples, or a cross-border lifestyle. “When a US citizen wants to move abroad, I help them figure out what that means and whether they have the resources to do it,” he says.

A man of many interests, Russ most recently took on bird watching—creating a natural habitat on his property, complete with bird houses and feeders. “The ease of creating the environment is an opportunity to share in the beauty, variety and independence of nature,” he says.  “The harmony of the graceful flight patterns and soulful sounds bring serenity in a world that can seem so complex.” Russ is a foodie who loves to cook and a people watcher who enjoys visiting new cities and immersing himself in the culture.
