“I find great satisfaction in being part of a successful team, where people want to stay a long time and help our clients thrive.”
Dan’s Role at Marshall Financial
While most clients don’t work directly with Dan, both of his roles at Marshall ultimately affect their financial success.
As our CFO, Dan handles all the corporate accounting and finance tasks that keep the firm running effectively. As our Chief Compliance Officer, he assists the firm in following the rules and regulations that are designed to protect our clients’ best interests. In 2019 he obtained his Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional
(IACCP®) designation, recognizing the continuing education challenges in the field of compliance.
“Over the years, I’ve helped some of our small business clients with budget and accounting issues,” he says. Whether it’s a family that owns multiple rental properties, or an owner of a closely held company, Dan has been known to offer his insights and guidance on the financial aspects of growing and managing a business.
Get to Know Dan
Dan is guided by a simple philosophy: Always do the right thing. “It’s not always easy, and sometimes it isn’t popular,” he points out, but that unwavering integrity is essential to his two roles at Marshall. He finds it especially gratifying to help a client overcome a financial challenge or address an accounting issue. “When you can help an individual or business owner with a problem that’s been keeping them up at night, and you see that sense of relief, it’s very rewarding,” he says.
Once his youngest child started college, Dan faced the same question every empty nester does: “What next?” Now that he and his wife are no longer shuttling kids to sports practices and travel league games, he hopes to get back to some of the hobbies he enjoyed in his younger days, like recreational sports, hiking, and fishing.
