Team Member Spotlight: Dee Erenius

Dee has been with Marshall Financial Group since 2001 and recently added some pretty impressive feats to her professional and personal resumes! We hope you enjoy learning more about Dee – keep an eye out for future staff spotlights coming soon.

In the Office

Dee has multiple functions at MFG. One is as the primary liaison with Schwab, making sure that all account related transactions and requests are completed timely and accurately. Her keen attention to detail and sense of urgency make her ideal for this role. She is always looking for ways to improve accuracy, security and efficiency of our “back-office” operations. She drives technology utilization as a way to enhance accuracy and security.  “I’ve tried to increase technology utilization where I can and will continue to do into the future.”

Dee has recently taken on a new role as Compliance Associate, assisting our Chief Compliance Officer in ensuring that we are in adherence of the SEC regulations. She conducts testing and staff training throughout the year to maintain our culture of compliance. Dee is enrolled in the Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional Program (IACCP), to further enhance her foundational knowledge of the rules and regulations required by the SEC for investment advisers.

Outside the Office

Dee is a single mother, which she says has not been without its challenges. She credits her work family and extended family in helping her through life’s rough patches. Growing up, she was the oldest of four kids, which she says prepared her for becoming a mother. She proudly celebrated her son Barret graduating from high school this year.

Earlier this year, Dee discovered she has a full biological sister living in Alabama – completely unbeknownst to her! “It makes me feel like I’m starring in a Hallmark movie,” she says. “There are still moments where I think about the whole thing and just shake my head. I am completely blown away by how it all worked out.” When her and her sister first met, she says it felt like they had known each other forever. Since meeting in person, they text every few days to keep in touch. They even have a trip planned for Disney World next year with both of their families to continue to grow their bond.

Adding to her exciting year, Dee recently completed the Half Dome in Yosemite, California with her partner Jeff. According to the Yosemite Hikes website, the Half Dome is ranked as Yosemite’s most difficult hike (an 11 on a 1-out-of-10 scale). She credits their success to training in the heat and humidity all summer long, which prepped them for the changes in elevation on the hike.  Dee says, “We try to check at least one thing off our bucket lists each year. This year we hiked Half Dome to the top (Jeff’s bucket list) and next year we plan on doing a Disney half marathon (my bucket list).”
